March/April Focus: Telling Your Child About His or Her Autism Diagnosis

In a recent episode of the NBC series "Parenthood," Max inadvertently finds out about his Asperger's diagnosis, and his parents have an emotional and difficult time explaining Asperger's to him.

You can watch the video here: http://www.nbc.com/parenthood/video/qualities-and-difficulties/1307133/ . The scene is in the first few minutes of the episode.

In March and April, Positively Autism will feature resources about telling a child about his or her autism diagnosis, and I hope it will help make the process less difficult. Please feel free to share any websites, books, or other information that you think are helpful for a family going through this experience. You can send them to nicole@positivelyautism.com

Thank you!
